It's starting to look like a house.

Kinja'd!!!

Secondary electrical panel in the garage so I can run welders and stuff.

Kinja'd!!!

240V 50amp plug in for my future Tesla. It was $200.00 for this plug so I call it a cheap investment for if I ever own a Tesla like I hope to one day. Easier to put it in now for $200 bucks than to have an electrician come in in a few years and charge me $1500 for it.

Subpanel and EV outlet? Excellent future-proofing, my friend. Kudos.

I would of been stupid not to add the EV outlet since I definitely plan on getting a Tesla one day (hopefully once the compact comes out) $200 added to the mortgage is only like $0.10/month, I spend more than that on toilet paper in one sitting. way better than paying $1500 bucks out of pocket later on.

That's the wife's house. mine is in the front. the funny part is that the garage would actually big enough to be a house 768sq/ft 24'x32'

You're close this is in Canada.

this is average size by canadian standards (minus the 3rd garage)

this is small by american standards

this is ABSOLUTELY HUGE by anyone else's standards (I've travelled a enough to know that I'm very lucky to get something like this)

1700 sq/ft or 158 sq/meters

Good job getting the extra garage, and outlet now. I went from a 1 car garage to a 3 car garage. You be suprised how quickly you grow into it. I really wish I had a 4 car garage.

Your garage has a house attached to it!

The wife was dead set that she needed a house as well. I would of been fine with just the garage.

I sure hope I get to outgrow it. it would suck to have all this with just 1 car to put in it.

This is pretty casual by NZ standards. We live in the suburbs (I guess you could call it that) and we have a house of similar size on the side of a hill, with 2200sqm in the garden. Drive for 10min in one direction, you get to the biggest city in the country. Drive for 5min in the other direction and you get to my mates 25000sqm farm where we ride motorbikes. I would love to live in Canada though. Awesome place I have heard.

It's funny I've heard the same about New-Zealand want to trade places? I think the difference between the 2 places is that (from what I've heard) NZ is more focused on quality of life where in canada it's all about work, work, work. you have to work like a mad man in order to buy a house and then you have no more time left for to enjoy it. in Canada you get a default 2weeks vacation a year plus 5 holidays, but in NZ don't you get 4weeks vacation plus another 11-12 days of holidays?

Not sure on the holidays part, I haven't gotten that far yet, but I think lifestyle plays a big part in NZ. It's super easy to have a weekend hobby, and usually affordable too. The car culture is also really diverse over here since our import laws are practically non-existent, and getting a car road legal is a rather simple process. There is a guy up the road who builds widebody v6 OG minis and OG mini front+motorbike rear. If you can't afford to spend money on your car, (like me currently) there are 2 major racing circuits within an hour of my place, and I volunteer at up to 36 weekends per year. Great lifestyle can be had here.

One of my best friends actually just moved to Vancouver, so I guess there is some appeal over there?
